Animal Event Support, Planning & Coordination

Experienced Animal-Care Support From Planning Through Event Day

Events involving animals require more than ordinary event planning.

Animal handling, safety, schedules, public interaction, transportation, containment, rest areas, weather, waste management, and animal comfort all need to work within the larger event plan.

Paws & Pasture Care by Sharon provides professional animal event support for nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses, rescues, shelters, farms, event professionals, venues, and community organizations.

I can be hired to help plan, prepare, coordinate, work, or provide hands-on animal support depending on the needs of your event.

Organizations I Can Work With

Services may be available to:

  • Animal shelters and rescues

  • Nonprofit organizations

  • For-profit businesses

  • Farms and equine organizations

  • Pet-related businesses

  • Veterinary and animal-care organizations

  • Event planners and event companies

  • Venues

  • Community organizations

  • Municipal or community programs

  • Fundraising organizations

  • Adoption organizations

  • Corporate event teams

  • Other organizations incorporating animals into an event

Your organization doesn't have to specialize in animals. If animals will be part of your event, we can discuss where experienced animal-care support would benefit your team.

Events I Can Support

Animal Event Support may be appropriate for:

  • Adoption events

  • Rescue and shelter fundraisers

  • Community pet events

  • Farm and equine events

  • Pet expos

  • Animal-focused festivals

  • Educational events

  • Open houses

  • Fundraisers

  • Meet-and-greets

  • Promotional events involving animals

  • Pet-friendly corporate events

  • Community outreach programs

  • Photoshoots

  • Other appropriately organized animal-inclusive events

Planning & Consultation

The best time to solve animal-related logistics is often before the event begins.

I can work with your organization or event team during planning to help consider:

  • Animal arrival and departure

  • Animal flow and designated areas

  • Handling and supervision

  • Feeding and water

  • Rest and quiet areas

  • Transportation

  • Containment and separation

  • Public interaction

  • Staff and volunteer responsibilities

  • Waste management

  • Weather considerations

  • Animal-care supplies

  • Emergency contacts and procedures

  • Backup plans

This allows animal needs to become part of the event plan instead of an issue someone has to solve on event day.

On-Site Animal Event Support

I can also work as part of your event-day team.

Depending on the event and agreed scope, responsibilities may include:

  • Animal handling and supervision

  • Monitoring designated animal areas

  • Feeding and watering

  • Walks and potty breaks

  • Assisting with animal arrivals and departures

  • Helping maintain safe animal spaces

  • Supporting staff, handlers, and volunteers

  • Managing animal transitions between activities

  • Pet waste management

  • Assisting with appropriate public interaction

  • Monitoring animals for signs of stress or discomfort

  • Responding to routine animal-care needs throughout the event

Staff & Volunteer Support

Animal events often bring together experienced handlers, volunteers, temporary staff, and people who may have very different levels of animal experience.

When requested, I can help reinforce the event's established procedures for animal handling, feeding, watering, sanitation, designated animal areas, and public interaction.

That gives your organization another knowledgeable person focused specifically on the animal side of the event.

Animal Welfare During the Event

Crowds, noise, weather, transportation, unfamiliar environments, other animals, and repeated interaction can affect animal behavior and comfort.

Part of my role can include helping identify when an animal may benefit from water, rest, reduced interaction, a quieter area, or assistance from its designated handler.

Animal welfare and public safety remain important even when the event schedule gets busy.

Choose the Level of Support You Need

Planning & Consultation
Animal-related planning support before the event.

Event-Day Support
Hands-on animal-care and coordination as part of your event team.

Planning + Event-Day Support
Continuity from the planning process through the actual event.

Multi-Day Event Support
Customized support for festivals, fundraisers, conferences, or other events operating over multiple days.

Professional Collaboration

I can work alongside your event director, planner, venue staff, organization leadership, animal handlers, veterinary professionals, volunteers, vendors, and other designated members of the event team.

My responsibilities and scope are established beforehand so everyone understands where the animal-care role fits within the larger event operation.

Professional Scope

Animal Event Support, Planning & Coordination provides practical animal-care, handling, planning, and event support within the agreed scope of service.

It does not replace veterinarians, licensed veterinary professionals, professional trainers, security personnel, emergency services, or other specialized professionals an event may require.

The hiring organization remains responsible for applicable permits, venue requirements, insurance requirements, regulatory compliance, and determining which licensed or specialized professionals are required for its event.

Custom Event Proposals

Because organizational events vary considerably, services are custom quoted.

Proposals may consider:

  • Type and size of event

  • Planning and consultation time

  • Number and types of animals

  • Expected attendance

  • Event-day responsibilities

  • Length and number of event days

  • Animal-handling requirements

  • Staffing needs

  • Transportation and travel

  • Setup or breakdown involvement

  • Additional animal-care responsibilities

Additional meetings, planning, or professional coordination beyond the agreed scope may be billed separately.
