Paws & Pasture Care by Sharon provides personalized on-site horse and equine care for owners who need help with daily routines, occasional coverage, vacations, schedule conflicts, or an extra set of experienced hands.

I come to your farm, barn, or private property so your horses can remain in their familiar environment and established routine.

Equine Care Services

Care is customized to your horses and your normal barn routine and may include:

• Feeding according to owner-provided instructions

• Fresh water and water checks

• Hay and forage routines

• Turnout and bring-in

• Stall checks

• Basic stall or paddock cleanup associated with care

• Blanketing and blanket changes

• Fly masks and other routine seasonal gear

• Basic grooming

• General visual wellness checks

• Owner-directed supplements

• Basic medication support when appropriate and arranged in advance

• Care for multiple horses

• Other agreed-upon routine care

Specific responsibilities are reviewed before service begins so I understand how you normally manage your horses and property.

Morning, Evening & Scheduled Coverage

Sometimes you don't need someone to take over the entire barn.

You may simply need dependable coverage for morning feeding, evening bring-in, turnout, a particular day, or another part of your normal routine.

Equine visits can be scheduled around the care you actually need rather than requiring a full farm-sitting arrangement.

Vacation & Travel Coverage

Going away doesn't mean your horses' routine has to change.

Equine care can be arranged for weekends, vacations, business travel, events, or other periods when you need someone to maintain their established schedule.

For properties with horses plus additional farm animals, we can also determine whether Barn & Farm Sitting would be a better fit for the household as a whole.

Every Barn Does Things Differently

There is no universal barn routine.

Feed preparation, turnout groups, gates, water systems, stall arrangements, blankets, supplements, equipment, and handling practices vary from property to property.

Before care begins, we'll review your routine, where supplies and equipment are located, individual horse instructions, emergency contacts, veterinary and farrier information when appropriate, and anything unusual I should know about the property.

My goal is to follow your established care system, not introduce a new one while you're away.

Individual Horses Require Individual Handling

Please disclose relevant information about each horse before service begins, including:

• Handling concerns

• Known behavioral issues

• Bite or kick history

• Difficult turnout or catching behavior

• Medical or mobility concerns

• Special feeding requirements

• Herd or turnout considerations

• Escape tendencies

• Equipment or handling requirements

If a situation cannot be handled safely, care may need to be modified until the owner, barn manager, veterinarian, or another appropriate person can assist.

Medication & Health-Related Care

Routine owner-directed medication or supplements may be considered depending on the horse's needs and the type of administration required.

Horse & Equine Care is non-veterinary care and does not replace veterinary diagnosis, treatment, emergency services, or professional medical monitoring.

Any medical or specialized care requirements should be discussed before booking so I can determine whether they fall within the services I can appropriately provide.

More Than Horses?

Many horse properties are home to more than horses.

If your property also includes goats, sheep, chickens, farm dogs or cats, birds, or other animals, tell me about the entire property when requesting your quote.

Depending on the number of animals and responsibilities involved, we may build a combined care plan or recommend Barn & Farm Sitting instead.

Quotes may take into consideration the number of horses, visit frequency and length, feeding and turnout requirements, stall or paddock responsibilities, special care needs, travel distance, and overall scope of service.
